Family Dentistry
Natural Dentistry welcomes families with children of all ages. Our clinicians are friendly, welcoming, and patient. We provide both preventative and comprehensive orthodontic treatment, as well as general dental treatments. Family dentistry, also called children's dentistry, is an umbrella term that refers to a dentist that accommodates all members of the family. It means that your children's mouths will be treated specifically to their needs, which are often different to an adult's needs, since children are still developing.

There are three main types of treatment that are associated with children's dentistry:
-
General dentistry (checkups, cleans, fillings)
-
Preventative orthodontic treatment
-
Comprehensive orthodontic treatment
Preventative orthodontics allows for less orthodontic treatment to occur as a child grows older. An assessment for this reveals any naturally occurring issues with your child's jaw, bite and teeth which often lead to breathing and chewing issues if left unaddressed. Natural Dentistry offers a special kind of preventative orthodontic system called Myobrace®.
The Myobrace® system focuses on addressing the underlying causes of crooked teeth, without the need for extracting teeth or having braces. It encourages natural growth and development. Myobrace® is perfect for children around ages 3-15, and involves using a series of removable intra-oral appliances. The appliance is to be worn overnight whilst sleeping, as well as for 1-2 hours during the day. For more information about the Myobrace® System, click here.

Why Should I See a Hygienist Instead of my Regular Dentist?
Hygienists are like the first line of professional defense for your teeth. They practice 'preventative dentistry', meaning the prevention of silent-growing issues such as decay and gum disease. Although dentists are more than capable of performing cleans at your hygiene visits, generally we prefer to allocate cleans to our hygienist. Essentially, having a hygienist allows us to see you faster. It allows us to create more space in our dentist's days to see more complex issues.
You will be getting a very thorough clean for the same price as seeing a dentist.
