In the early 1900s, a dentist named Dr. Weston A. Price began a cross-culture study into how diet contributes to optimal dental health. What he discovered was truly eye-opening. Traditional diets that were rich in essential nutrients like vitamins D, A, and what he referred to as "Activator X" (now identified as vitamin K2), were the cornerstone of strong, cavity-resistant teeth and broad, well-shaped jaws.

 

Compare this to the modern diet, laden with processed foods lacking balance and vital nutrients. The consequences of this diet are high rates of tooth decay, narrow dental arches, and compromised airways. The missing link? Key vitamins like K2, which play a crucial role in directing calcium to where it's needed most. Without adequate levels of these vitamins, our dental and overall health suffer.

 

Let's focus on the role of vitamin K2. It activates two essential proteins: osteocalcin and Matrix GLA. Osteocalcin guides calcium into bones, ensuring they stay strong and healthy, while Matrix GLA prevents calcium from accumulating in arteries and teeth preventing the formation of harmful calcifications. However, for K2 to work its magic, it needs the support of vitamins A and D. Together, they ensure that calcium is distributed efficiently throughout the body, including teeth. This strengthens teeth and the jawbone supporting them, providing optimal dental health.
